Some shop pages include affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one, I may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This is currently how the site is supported.
Every shop is scored using the methodology outlined on the Methodology page before any affiliate relationship is considered. A shop’s authenticity, response, condition, shipping, and price scores are locked in based on that criteria alone.
No shop can pay to be listed, rated, re-rated, or removed. No shop can pay for a higher placement. Being an affiliate partner has no bearing on a shop’s score — a highly-rated shop that also happens to be an affiliate partner is rated highly because of the methodology, not because of the partnership.
A shop can have an affiliate link and a low score.
A shop can have no affiliate relationship at all and a high score.
If I ever change a shop’s affiliate status, I don’t revisit or adjust that shop’s existing rating as a result.
If you think a rating looks influenced by anything other than the methodology, I’d genuinely like to hear about it — reach out at [placeholder].
